Julia & Isaac’s Sentimental September Wedding at the Quadrangle Club in Chicago

You wouldn’t know it from looking at the photos, but Julia and Isaac booked us just four days before their wedding. Yep, four days. Their original photographer had a medical emergency, and by some stroke of luck (or fate), we had that Saturday open. From the moment we connected, we knew it was meant to be. These two were kind, grounded, and full of grace in the face of last-minute change and we were so honored to step in and tell their story.

Their September wedding was one of those rare days that felt deeply personal at every turn. Julia got ready in her childhood home in Hyde Park, where she shared the sweetest first look with her dad. Isaac got ready at the very place they would later dance the night away: The Quadrangle Club. Before heading to the ceremony, Julia and Isaac privately exchanged handwritten letters and gifts a quiet moment that grounded them both before the celebration began.

From start to finish, their day was steeped in legacy and love. Julia wore her mother’s wedding gown, beautifully reimagined for her, along with a veil that’s been in Isaac’s family for four generations. Isaac wore Julia’s late grandfather’s cufflinks, a subtle but meaningful way to carry his memory throughout the day.

Their ceremony was a full Catholic mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by a lively trolley ride around Chicago with their wedding party. We stopped at some of their favorite Hyde Park photo spots, including the University of Chicago campus and Promontory Point, where we captured some timeless moments with their closest friends.

The reception at The Quadrangle Club was elegant and full of heart. Guests were greeted by lush florals from Kloeckner Flowers and a joyful atmosphere that never faded. One of our favorite touches? They had Christmas crackers at every place setting—yes, in September! The crowns, poppers, and laughter that followed were the perfect reflection of Julia and Isaac’s playful, laid-back personalities. Even in a formal space, their celebration felt warm, cozy, and true to them.

We’re still amazed at how seamlessly everything came together, and it’s a true testament to their incredible planner, Tionna Van Gundy of WediCity. From hair and makeup by Pin Me Up to Isaac’s tailored tux from J. Mueser, every detail was intentional, stylish, and authentically them.

Julia and Isaac, thank you for trusting us, even on such short notice. Your wedding was one of those rare days that reminded us exactly why we do what we do: to capture love that’s real, meaningful, and joyfully imperfect.

We’re cheering you on in this next chapter. Wishing you all the happiness in the world! 💕
