There’s something timeless about a June wedding at Cheney Mansion and this one was magic from start to finish. Wren and Nick’s day felt like a page out of a Jane Austen novel, full of soft romance, meaningful details, and tender moments that made us feel lucky to be behind the camera.

We started the day at Carleton of Oak Park Hotel, where Wren and Nick each got ready with their closest friends. There were already tears as Wren and Nick exchanged heartfelt letters before heading to the ceremony, and the emotions only grew deeper from there.

Their full Catholic mass at Ascension Catholic Church was classic and reverent, the lack of AC just added to the summer-in-Chicago authenticity haha. Wren and Nick exited their ceremony to a sea of handmade paper airplanes thrown by their guests, there was pure joy and it ended up being one of our favorite church exits ever.

Afterward, we made our way to Cheney Mansion, our fourth time shooting here and it never disappoints. The reception was full of dreamy details: wildflower-covered tables, outdoor family-style seating, a sunset-lit first dance, and speeches that had us laughing and tearing up right alongside everyone else.

The Jane Austen energy carried all the way to their gorgeous cake, featuring soft blue illustrated details and a sweet bluebird topper. From the florals by EcoWilde to the classic games on the lawn, the whole evening felt like a story unfolding in the most joyful, down-to-earth and fun way.

Wren and Nick met at a college board game club (over half their wedding party was there when they met, how sweet is that?). They still love playing games, visiting museums, traveling, and trying new foods. It was clear all day how deeply their friends and family love them and how much fun they have together.

Wren and Nick, thank you for letting us be a part of such a beautiful beginning to your marriage!
