Some sessions just feel easy from the moment you start, and Sylvie and Zac’s fall couple session was exactly that.
These two are already married and very much in their fun, settled, still so in love era, which honestly makes for the sweetest photos. The goal for this session was simple. Document them being them. Laughing, hanging out, grabbing coffee, and soaking up a cozy fall evening together.
We started at the Continental Bakery in English Village, which is always such a good spot. Sylvie and Zac grabbed some drinks and immediately fell into their natural rhythm together. Nothing forced, nothing stiff. Just genuine moments and easy smiles. This is one of our favorite ways to start a session because it gives couples time to warm up and forget that there’s a camera around.
From there, we wandered over to a set of steps nearby that gave major New York vibes. Brick, texture, city energy, and that effortless cool feel. It was one of those spots that makes you forget you’re in Birmingham for a second, and it fit their style perfectly.
We wrapped things up at a nearby park just as the sun had fully set. The light was soft, the air felt like fall, and the whole session ended on such a calm, romantic note. These are the moments we love most, when things slow down and the connection really shines.
A little fun personal note. Sylvie is actually the manager at Club Pilates where I go every single week, which made this session even more special. Getting to photograph someone you already know and adore, and to see their relationship through your lens, is always such an honor.
Sylvie and Zac are young, sweet, and so fun together and this session felt like such a true reflection of who they are. Just two people enjoying a cozy fall evening, coffee in hand, and soaking in time together.
Sessions like this are such a good reminder that photos do not have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes the best ones come from simply showing up as yourselves.
